Today we will be comparing two similar summer tyres- Linglong Sport Master from Linglong and the Dunlop SP Sport MAXX RT2 from Dunlop.

The Linglong Sport Master is an Ultra High Performance (UHP) summer tyre. Reviewers from multiple sites rated the tyre a 72% across various tests. The Sport Master excels when it comes to exterior noise, offering a quieter ride than many of its rivals. The tyre finds its peak performance in conditions of brake shortness, dynamism, safe handling behaviour under all weather conditions, and good lateral guidance. However, according to autobild 2023, the strong understeering dry handling and modest comfort posed certain challenges.
Moreover, the total mileage of tyres is also reported to be very low; thus, frequent replacements might be required.

On the contrary, the Dunlop SP Sport MAXX RT2 is tagged as an Ultra-Ultra High Performance (UUHP) summer tyre and scored marginally better with a rating of 76%. The tyre boasts excellent resistance to Aquaplaning, both longitudal and cross, ensuring safer rides in rainy conditions. It further promises a good mileage and comfortable ride, as testified by the autobild 2025 test. Although the reviewers found an initial delay in steering response on dry roads, but on wet surface, the tyre provides secure driving properties, good Aquaplaning quality, and short dry braking distances.

On comparing both in the AutoBild 50 tyre test, the Linglong came in 7th, whereas Dunlop's SP Sport MAXX RT2 finished at the 13th spot. Both tyres seem to have their minor drawbacks but offer good performances, as reflected in their close rating percentages.

In conclusion, the Dunlop SP Sport MAXX RT2 slightly outperforms the Linglong Sport Master in overall quality and performance. However, the Linglong Sport Master might be a good choice for those looking for a quieter tyre. If security in wet conditions and low exterior noise level are your priority, you might want to consider the Dunlop SP Sport MAXX RT2.

Please note that none of the newly launched models have replaced either of the two compared tyres.
