In this comparison we will assess two summer tyres, the Firestone Roadhawk and the Fulda EcoControl HP2. This review will help you make a more comprehensive decision based on your needs.
The Firestone Roadhawk, rated 72% by our team, didn't have its predecessor or a newer model that replaced it. It ranked 10th in the Autobild test among 53 tyres. Some of its strengths include commendable dry handling and wet handling. However, it reportedly delivered increased rolling noise, and that could be marked as one of its weaknesses.
In the ADAC test, the Firestone Roadhawk secured the 9th position out of 16 tyres, especially performing well on dry braking and wet circle cornering. However, it was criticized for its handling on wet surfaces and recognized as the loudest tyre in the test.
On the other hand, the Fulda EcoControl HP2, rated slightly higher at 79% in our review, replaced its predecessor Fulda EcoControl HP. In the Autobild test, it ranked 20th out of 53 tyres. Strengths were observed in its low exterior noise and performance during cross aquaplaning. But, its overall performance wasn't as balanced and had weaknesses on a wet roadway. The position in the ADAC test was 14th.
Despite its lower test positions, the Fulda EcoControl HP2 received praises for its environmental performance, efficacy, and wear resistance. However, much like the Firestone Roadhawk, it had certain issues with wet roadway performance.
In summary, both the Firestone Roadhawk and Fulda EcoControl HP2 have their strengths and weaknesses. If handling and performance on dry or wet roads are vital for your vehicle, you might lean towards choosing Firestone Roadhawk with its better test positions. Conversely, if exterior noise and environmental performance rank higher on your importance scale, Fulda EcoControl HP2 could be a better choice for you.
