If you are in search of a premium summer tyre that delivers on performance and comfort, the Falken Azenis FK520 and Bridgestone Turanza 6 are excellent choices. Both tyres have been put to the test across various environments, demonstrating their respective strengths and weaknesses. This article provides a detailed comparison, based on collected test results and reviews.

The Falken Azenis FK520, manufactured in Turkey (TR), is a summer UUHP (Ultra Ultra High Performance) tyre. It boasts a convincing performance on dry tracks and has impressively short braking distances on both wet and dry surfaces. Its standout feature is its aquaplaning performance. Automotorsport placed the FK520 at position 7 out of 8 tyres tested, noting its excellent resistance to longitudal aquaplaning. However, it does have limitations, such as restricted lateral guidance during wet conditions. Overall, we rated the Falken Azenis FK520 at 75%. The FK520 is the successor to the Falken Azenis FK510, but does not yet have a replacement model.

On the other hand, the Bridgestone Turanza 6 is a summer tyre with a sporty yet controllable demeanor on dry tarmac. It also provided good aquaplaning prevention and decent braking properties in wet conditions, earning it a spot at position 4 in Automotorsport's test. Autobild noted the Turanza 6's comfort and rolling resistance as its best features, placing it 16th out of the 50 tyres tested. However, its traction and cornering grip during wet conditions does have some restrictions, making it slightly bumpy on transverse joints. Yet, it still holds an excellent rating of 83%. Unlike the FK520, the Turanza 6 doesn't have a previous model nor a successor.

In terms of mutual test positions, the Turanza 6 consistently ranked higher than the FK520 in all tests, indicating that it generally performs better overall. Comparatively, the FK520 outperformed the Turanza 6 in handling aquaplaning, but fell short in terms of rolling resistance and comfort.

To summarise, both tyres are good choices depending on your driving conditions and preferences. The Falken Azenis FK520, from falken, is great for high-performance driving on dry tarmac, wet grip, and has a quieter drive noise. Meanwhile, the Bridgestone Turanza 6, from bridgestone, provides a balanced high-performance, comfort, and has better fuel efficiency due to its lower rolling resistance.
