2026 Guide
Bridgestone - summer tyres 2026 - market overview, tests, reviews
Bridgestone offers one of the broadest summer tyre portfolios in the premium segment, covering everything from everyday touring use to high-performance sports driving. From the many models currently available, we have selected just a handful based on the most recent independent test results — focusing on tyres that have been validated across multiple organisations and size categories in 2025 and 2026.
**Bridgestone Potenza Sport Evo**
The Potenza Sport Evo is Bridgestone's latest ultra-high performance summer tyre and replaces the well-regarded Potenza Sport. The generational step has paid off clearly in independent testing: in the 2026 Sportauto test (205/45 R17), the Potenza Sport Evo took outright victory with a score of 9.2 out of 10, praised for "high grip reserves in both wet and dry conditions, very short braking distances of 33.8 m dry and 33.1 m wet, and fine balance even under load changes." Auto Bild and BILD both ranked it second in their 2026 comparative tests in 255/45 R19, describing it as a "dynamic tyre with direct steering response and agile behaviour on all surfaces." Tyre Reviews awarded it "Highly Recommended" in the 235/35 R19 size, highlighting its "exceptional all-round grip especially in the wet and the highest subjective wet rating in the test." Sportscars echoed similar findings in 255/35 R19. Across all five tests, the recurring critique is consistent: the Potenza Sport Evo is the most expensive tyre in its respective group, carries a slightly elevated rolling resistance, and is among the louder options — Tyre Reviews measured 73.7 dB. If pure dynamic performance is the priority, however, the evidence across multiple organisations and sizes makes it one of the strongest ultra-high performance summer tyres currently available.
**Bridgestone Turanza 6**
The Turanza 6 is Bridgestone's grand touring summer tyre and successor to the Turanza T005. It targets a different audience than the Potenza Sport Evo — prioritising efficiency, comfort, and longevity over outright cornering performance. In Tyre Reviews' 2026 test (225/45 R17), the Turanza 6 recorded the best rolling resistance of the entire field at 6.32 kg/t, a clear 10% advantage over the next competitor. The AvD rated it "Highly Recommended" and awarded it the best tread life among premium tyres, the best comfort score, and their Greenovation distinction for environmental performance. Die Reifentester confirmed the same pattern — joint-best rolling resistance alongside Michelin (6.3 kg/t) and quietest interior noise among summer tyres tested. The trade-off is equally consistent across tests: wet handling is a relative weak point, with the ADAC, Tyre Reviews, and Die Reifentester all noting below-average wet lap times and an understeering character in dynamic wet driving. Dry braking also falls short of the class leaders, as flagged by the ADAC (score 3.0), AvD, and Tyre Reviews alike. The Turanza 6 is therefore best suited to drivers who cover high annual mileage, value fuel economy, and prioritise a refined, quiet ride over sporty responsiveness.
