ADAC Summer tyre test 2024 215/55 R17 satisfactory Ranked #14 of 16The Semperit Speed-Life 3 finished 14th out of 16 competitors, securing a final rating of 'Satisfactory.' While showcasing commendable handling on wet surfaces, a very high expected tread life, low wear, and good efficiency, it fell short in dry condition maneuverability. The tire's performance on dry roads displayed only adequate feedback through the steering and struggled in terms of handling at the limits, with a pronounced tendency to understeer during sudden evasive moves. Although its braking distances on dry surfaces were judged to be satisfactory, these were not enough to elevate its overall rating in dry conditions. In wet conditions, the tire narrowly missed achieving a good evaluation. Despite its satisfactory outcomes in wet braking and lateral aquaplaning, it performed well in longitudinal aquaplaning and handling, but these positives did not suffice for a high overall wet rating. It led the way in none of the tested disciplines and was notably the weakest in dry braking and wet circle cornering. From an environmental perspective, the Speed-Life 3 was positively assessed, with its projected tread life being rated very good and both wear and efficiency receiving good scores. However, its noise and sustainability aspects only managed a satisfactory rating.
