Linglong Sport Master
Across several Autobild tests, the Sport Master has delivered mixed but often respectable results for a budget‑positioned UHP tyre. In 2025 (225/40 R18), it placed 5th in the initial braking‑distance qualifying round and finished 11th overall with a “satisfactory” verdict. Testers highlighted short braking distances, dynamic and secure handling with good lateral support, but also criticized its very limited mileage and high rolling resistance. Earlier 2023 results underline how size matters: in 225/45 R18 it was praised for short wet and dry braking, low noise and low price, yet marked down for very low mileage, understeer in dry handling and only moderate comfort. In 225/40 R18, by contrast, it was commended for low rolling resistance, low noise and affordability, but showed only moderate grip, delayed steering response, limited aquaplaning reserves and, in that size, longer wet and dry braking distances. In short: when it scores well, it does so on braking performance and secure day‑to‑day handling; the usual trade‑offs are durability and efficiency.

Linglong Sport Master 2
The Sport Master 2 is the successor to the original Sport Master and is already replacing it in many sizes on the market. Independent data is still relatively limited, but in ADAC’s 2024 test (215/55 R17) it received a “satisfactory” rating and finished mid‑pack. That suggests a broadly acceptable, balanced performance for mainstream vehicles, though without the kind of standout strengths that lift it to the top of its class. As more tests in additional sizes appear, the picture of its strengths and compromises will become clearer.

Linglong Comfort Master
In Autobild’s 2024 braking‑distance qualifying (205/55 R16), the Comfort Master finished outside the shortlist at 35th. That early exit indicates comparatively longer stopping distances than many rivals in that size. While no full multi‑discipline assessment was published in that exercise, braking performance is an important safety criterion, and this result suggests buyers who prioritize short wet and dry stopping distances should compare alternatives carefully.

Replacement note
If you are cross‑shopping the Sport Master and Sport Master 2, be aware that the “2” is the newer design and is steadily replacing the original Sport Master in retail channels. Where both are available, the original Sport Master has shown flashes of strong braking and confident handling in certain sizes but typically at the cost of wear and rolling resistance; the Sport Master 2 currently looks like a safer middle‑ground choice based on limited but credible test evidence.
