Here we are comparing the Vredestein ULTRAC with the Continental PremiumContact 7, both being summer tyres. The Vredestein ULTRAC was originally fitted to the BMW 2-series Active Tourer. It was made in Hungary.
Starting with the Vredestein ULTRAC, this tyre performs decently in tests, with its best performance in the ACE test as 2nd out of 10 vehicles tested. Its consistent performance includes very good traction and easy control on wet roads. It, however, tends to be sensitive to load changes and can exhibit slightly unstable rear during quick lane changing. Its comfort can also be limited by some slight "poltrigkeit".
Switching to the Continental PremiumContact 7, this tyre delivers impressive performances across all tests. It garners impressive ratings with an impressive 99% rate from us. Made in France, Slovakia, Germany and the Czech Republic, this tyre doesn't disappoint with high ratings in tests. The ACE and Automotorsport tests had it in the 1st position. Additionally, it outshines others in features such as dry and wet braking and handling. However, its strengths are plagued by slight weaknesses such as increased noise and decreased fuel efficiency.
In direct comparison, Continental's tyre takes the lead overall in tests. While the Vredestein's ULTRAC tyre is praised for its excellent wet handling and resistance to aquaplaning, it does suffer in terms of high rolling resistance and external noise. On the other hand, the Continental PremiumContact 7 thrives with its high level of wet grip and short braking distances, although its rolling resistance is just average and it, too, struggles with external noise.
Neither tyre has been replaced with a newer model as of yet, and while they each have their pros and cons, the Continental PremiumContact 7 is generally stronger across various tests.
