Today, we will be comparing two summer tyres, the Sava Intensa UHP 2 and the Matador MP47 Hectorra 3.
Sava Intensa UHP 2
The Sava Intensa UHP 2, a product of Sava, is a well-regarded model, boasting an impressive 67% overall rating on our tests. The Sava Intensa UHP 2 is a successor model to the Sava Intensa UHP, applying improvements made over the previous models.
In the Autobild test, the Sava Intensa UHP 2 secured the 17th position out of 53 tyres. It earned commendations for its cross aquaplaning capabilities and its excellent price/value ratio.
The autobild 2020 summary highlighted the tyre's short dry braking distances, low rolling resistance and competitive price level as its standout features. However, the tyre fell short in some aspects such as understeering during wet/dry handling, and moderate aquaplaning reserves.
Matador MP47 Hectorra 3
On the other hand, the Matador MP47 Hectorra 3 by Matador, fell behind the Sava Intensa UHP 2 in our tests, securing a 44% overall rating.
In the Autobild test, this tyre secured the 36th position out of the tested 53 tyres, noticeably behind the Sava Intensa UHP 2.
There were no detailed test results available for the Matador MP47 Hectorra 3 in the autobild 2020 summary, and no newer model has replaced this tyre as of now.
Summary
Overall, the performance data from our tests seem to favor the Sava Intensa UHP 2, with a higher overall rating and better performance in mutual tests than the Matador MP47 Hectorra 3.
