Today, we're going to evaluate two popular tyre brands: Sava Intensa UHP 2 and Falken Azenis FK510. They are both summer tyres, but they vary significantly in performance, according to different tests.

Sava Intensa UHP 2

The Sava Intensa UHP 2, manufactured by Sava, is a follow-up to the previous model: Sava Intensa UHP. It received a notable rank of 6th out of 16 tyres in the ADAC test, excelling in aspects such as noise and fuel efficiency, and resisting aquaplaning. In contrast, in the Autobild test, it ranked 11th out of 52 tyres, with particular strengths in cross aquaplaning and price/value. However, improvements are needed in aspects such as wear and wet handling according to the 2021 ADAC report.

Overall, the Sava Intensa UHP 2 scored a commendable 73% in our rating, underlining its well-rounded performance. However, it doesn't appear that there are newer models that replaced this particular tyre.

Falken Azenis FK510

On the other hand, the Falken Azenis FK510 manufactured by Falken, positioned 8th in the ADAC test out of 16 tyres, boasting key features like wet handling, interior noise control, and mileage. Astoundingly, in the Autobild test, it bagged the 3rd position out of 52 tyres, receiving praise for exterior noise control, price/value and rolling resistance. However, according to the 2021 ADAC verdict, it could do better with fuel efficiency, although it performs superbly on both wet and dry surfaces.

Falken has recently replaced the Azenis FK510 with their newer Falken Azenis FK520 model. The FK510 scored overall 74% in our review (just slightly ahead of the Sava Intensa UHP 2).

Verdict

In conclusion, if you're looking for a tyre that strikes a good balance between performance and price, the Sava Intensa UHP 2 could be your best bet. However, if you prioritize noise control and superior wet and dry handling, you might want to opt for the Falken Azenis FK510 or the newer FK520 variant that replaced it.

Remember to consider your specific needs and preferences when choosing between these two superior summer tyres!
