Today, we are comparing two summer tyres: the Sava Intensa HP2 and the Uniroyal RainSport 5.
The Sava Intensa HP2, a successor to the Sava Intensa HP, is a tyre known for efficiency and lightness, scoring 67% on our rating scale. Despite being efficient, it does have some shortcomings. The tyre shows weaknesses in dry and wet conditions, and its environmental performance could also use improvement. Its performance in terms of safety and tyre wear also presents some concerns, as shown in the Autobild 2024 test. Despite these drawbacks, the Sava Intensa HP2 still managed to secure the 22nd position (out of 53) in the Autobild test and 18th position (out of 50) in the ADAC test. On the other hand, the Uniroyal RainSport 5, rated 64% on our scale, is a UHP (Ultra High Performance) summer tyre. This tyre excels in aquaplaning (cross and longitudinal), as highlighted in the Autobild test, where it grabbed the 19th position out of 53. In the ADAC test, however, it secured a relatively low position, 31st out of 50. The tyre performs well in wet conditions but presents significant weaknesses in dry conditions. A notable disadvantage of the Uniroyal RainSport 5 is its poor environmental performance and low mileage, resulting in high fuel consumption. In conclusion, comparing these two tyres is not a straightforward task since each one has its strengths and weaknesses. However, if safety and longevity are a high priority, the Sava Intensa HP2 seems to have a slight edge, even though it doesn't perform as well as Uniroyal RainSport 5 in wet conditions. On the flip side, if premium wet performance is a top priority, the Uniroyal RainSport 5 could be a better choice, despite its lower overall performance and higher fuel consumption.
