In the summer tyre sector, two serious contenders for your consideration are the Esa+Tecar Spirit Pro and the Firestone Roadhawk. Both offer reliable performance, but they have distinctive characteristics that set them apart in the tyre marketplace. Designed by Esa+Tecar and Firestone respectively, here's a comparative analysis of each tyre based on multiple tests.

Created by Esa+Tecar, the Spirit Pro is a summer tyre that earned a rating of 65% from our website. Key strengths for this model include its remarkable mileage, good performance on wet roads and its environmentally friendly disposition. It also demonstrated efficient power usage. However, it had a marked weakness in terms of performance on dry roads. Even with these limitations, the Spirit Pro still placed favourably in the 7th position out of 17 contenders in the ADAC test.

On the other side of the equation, the Firestone Roadhawk is another noteworthy summer tyre and received a rating of 59% from our website. This tyre scored the highest note for its efficiency and low wear, and performed well on dry roads. Its weaknesses, however, were slightly more concerning with a less balanced performance and evident weaknesses on wet roads. Additionally, deficiencies were also noted in terms of lifespan of the tyre with it placing 17th in the ADAC test.

Upon comparison of test results, the Esa+Tecar Spirit Pro offers clear advantages, primarily its high mileage and good performance on wet surfaces, but the tyre falls short of offering a balanced performance, particularly on dry roads. Despite the shortcomings, based on our rating and position in the ADAC test, the Spirit Pro represents a more adaptable option.

In contrast, the Firestone Roadhawk while demonstrating excellent efficiency and low wear, showcased underwhelming performance in wet conditions and tyre lifespan. Given these drawbacks and its position in the ADAC ranking, it might not be an optimal choice for those prioritising versatility and longevity.

Both tyres, the Esa+Tecar Spirit Pro and the Firestone Roadhawk, have their unique strengths and weaknesses. While the Esa+Tecar Spirit Pro might suit long-distance drivers needing a higher mileage performance, the Firestone Roadhawk would suit those who primarily travel on dry roads and value efficiency. As always, consider your driving conditions and needs when making your tyre choice.
