When it comes to comparing two summer tyres, the Cooper Zeon CS8 and the Uniroyal RainSport 5, several points stand out. First, the Cooper Zeon CS8 was manufactured in Great Britain and we rated it at 42% on our own scale. On the other hand, the Uniroyal RainSport 5, a UHP subType tyre, achieved a higher rating of 64%.

In the Autobild test, the Cooper Zeon CS8 landed in 26th place out of 53 tested tyres. Comparatively, the Uniroyal RainSport 5 performed slightly better, ranking 19th. Notably, the Uniroyal RainSport 5 was highlighted for its aquaplaning features both in cross and longitudinal dynamics. These are invaluable for maintaining control on wet road surfaces.

Further analysis in the autobild 2024 test, found the Cooper tyre to be satisfactory on wet roads but underperforming on dry terrain. The evaluation also noted weak performance in efficiency and sustainability categories. The Uniroyal tyre, despite also showing strengths in wet conditions, had critical shortcomings on dry surfaces, as well as high fuel consumption and limited tread life.

In a test conducted by ADAC, again, the Uniroyal RainSport 5 outperformed the Cooper Zeon CS8 by a small margin; the former came in at position 31, compared to the latter’s 33rd place, out of a total of 50 tyres reviewed.

In summary, the Cooper Zeon CS8 represents a mid-tier summer tyre with sound performance in wet conditions but notable weaknesses on dry surfaces and in the areas of efficiency and sustainability. Meanwhile, the Uniroyal RainSport 5 also showed strengths in wet conditions, including superior aquaplaning performance, but struggled on dry surfaces and with respect to fuel economy and tread life. Nevertheless, throughout all tests, the Uniroyal RainSport 5 consistently achieved higher rankings than the Cooper Zeon CS8.

As of now, neither of these tyres has been replaced with a newer model. For further updates and detailed reviews, we recommend keeping an eye on our site's respective pages for both the Cooper Zeon CS8 and the Uniroyal RainSport 5.
