When it comes to summer tyres, two models often compared are the Continental SportContact 7 and the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6. Both models are highly-regarded, and they come from manufacturers known for their quality and performance. The Continental SportContact 7 is made in CZ, SK, and PT and is the latest in a line of successful tyres, including the SportContact 6, SportContact 5, and SportContact 3. Goodyear's Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6, on the other hand, is made in DE, with previous successful models like the Asymmetric 3 and Asymmetric 5.

In various tests, both tyres showed excellent performance. According to Autobild, the Continental SportContact 7 stood out for comfort, dry braking, and handling. However, the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 had the upper hand in aquaplaning, wet handling, and noise reduction, eventually taking the first place, while the Continental came second among ten tyres in test.

On the other hand, the ADAC 2021 results had the SportContact 7 positioned as number 1 out of 18 tyres, while the Goodyear tyre came in 4th. The Continental tyre shone in the SportAuto test with strengths in dry braking and handling while Goodyear showed impressive results in dry braking and steering response.

When inspecting individual tests, for the Continental SportContact 7, its strong suits were its very balanced handling capabilities, high grip level while braking and during dry cornering. However, its performance declined marginally during wet corner cursing and slightly higher exterior noise. In the case of Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6, it took the cake with shortest braking distances, best balance, and significantly high safety during dry conditions. Its only minor shortfall was in the area of wet corner grip.

In conclusion, both the Continental SportContact 7 and the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 are top-tier tyres, excellent in almost every condition. In comparison, Continental tyre is the best for dry conditions while Goodyear has the edge with wet conditions and noise level. It could be suitable to choose based on your usual driving conditions.
