The Continental SportContact 7 and the Giti Gitisport S2 are both high-quality summer tyres, each offering a different range of strengths and weaknesses.

The Continental SportContact 7, which was previously upgraded from the Continental SportContact 6 and enjoys a rating of 100% from us, is a tyre that delivers superb performance. It had an excellent performance in tests taking the top positions. For instance, the tyre took the 1st position out of 11 and 13 in the SportAuto and Autobild test respectively. This Ultra-Ultra-High-Performance (UUHP) model, made in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Portugal, greatly excelled in dry and wet braking, as well as wet and dry handling, amongst others. However, it’s not all roses; the tyre has some shortcomings like a slight reduction in wet cornering grip and increased driving noise according to the SportAuto 2023 test.

On the other hand, the Giti Gitisport S2, a product of Giti, and which is categorised as an Ultra-High-Performance (UHP) tyre made in China, did not manage to outshine the competition in the mutual tests. Out of a total of 11 and 13 tyres in the SportAuto and Autobild test, Giti Gitisport S2 landed the 10th position which is not a bad feat given the performance of the tyre. Its strengths lie in safety during aquaplaning and it's generally good properties in wet conditions. Nevertheless, tests highlighted a few weaknesses such as a lack of precision in wet conditions and longer braking distances on dry roads, according to the sportauto 2023 test.

In conclusion, the Continental SportContact 7 appears to offer a more well-rounded performance, masterfully balancing handling and braking on both wet and dry surfaces, despite a slightly increased noise level. The Giti Gitisport S2 offers reliable performance and stands out in terms of safety for aquaplaning, but exhibits some minor drawbacks in handling and braking.

While both the Continental SportContact 7 and Giti Gitisport S2 are commendable summer tyres, Continental SportContact 7 seems to have the upper hand according to the test results. Ultimately, the choice between the two would vary depending upon individual driving styles and requirements.
