As we compare the Bridgestone Turanza 6 and the Vredestein ULTRAC tyres, there are several key points that we should take into consideration. Developed by Bridgestone and Vredestein respectively, both of these summer tyres deliver performance. However, they shine in different aspects as our extensive tests reveal.

The Bridgestone Turanza 6's strongest points lie in its dry handling capabilities, its rolling resistance and Aquaplaning (a trait that's highly rated by ADAC). On the flip side, it has been noted for its limitations in wet condition traction and corner grip. This is accurate from our data and Automotorsport's reviews which placed the Turanza 6 at positions 6 and 4 respectively in their tests.

Vredestein's ULTRAC, which is also made in Hungary and a first equipment choice for BMW 2-Series Active Tourer, has been praised for its excellent grip and easy control, especially in wet scenarios as well as its good handling characteristics on dry roads. In despite of these, it has been noted to have a slightly unstable rear during swift lane changes and a reduced comfort due to its sensitivity to transverse joints. According to both ACE and Autobild, the ULTRAC marginally outperformed the Bridgestone Turanza 6, positioning 2nd and 3rd respectively.

When looking at our ratings, it's clear the Bridgestone Turanza 6 is superior, gaining an approval rate of 87%. This surpasses the Vredestein ULTRAC’s 42% despite its impressive test results from other sources. This difference might be attributed to the increase in mileage and a less noisy interior, which ADAC pointed out as properties of the Turanza 6.

Neither of these tyres has been replaced by a newer tyre model, which lets us put a greater emphasis on the consistency of the models tested.

In the end, both the Bridgestone Turanza 6 and the Vredestein ULTRAC are reliable choices that perform well in certain aspects. The Turanza 6 excels in dry handling and rolling resistance, while the ULTRAC shines with its good wet grip and easy controllability. The choice between these two tyres ultimately comes down to individual preference considering specific driving conditions and requirements.
