In this text, we will compare two popular summer tyres, the BF Goodrich g-Grip and the GT Radial Champiro FE1. These tyres, manufactured by BF Goodrich and GT Radial respectively, have both been tested by Autobild and ACE, and now we will take a closer look at their strengths and weaknesses based on these test results.
In the various tests carried out by Autobild and ACE, some interesting trends were noticed. In the Autobild test, the BF Goodrich g-Grip achieved a reasonably good result, placed 27 out of 52 tyres tested, while the GT Radial Champiro FE1 was slightly lower down the ranking at 34th place. This indicates a higher overall performance for the BF Goodrich tyre in this particular test.
In the ACE test, however, both tyres were put under only 10 tyres in total. The BF Goodrich g-Grip still performed well, landing in 6th place, while the GT Radial Champiro FE1 struggled and ended up at the back, on 10th position.
The BF Goodrich g-Grip exhibits dependable performance, rating fairly high in the tests and outperformed the GT Radial tyre in both tests. It can provide a balanced driving experience for most of the summer conditions due to its strong performance.
The GT Radial Champiro FE1, although placed lower in the rankings, should not be dismissed lightly. Its performance may vary more depending on the specific conditions and vehicle it is used with, but the tyre does seem to perform less adequately when compared directly with BF Goodrich g-Grip in the provided tests.
Neither tyre has been replaced with a newer model according to our data. However, advancements in technology and changes in driving conditions could mean that newer models might offer improved performance. It is always recommended that you consult the most recent tyre test results and ensure your chosen tyre matches your specific needs and driving habits.
Overall, based on the combination of the final positions in the mutual tests, the BF Goodrich g-Grip can be considered the superior tyre in this comparison. Obviously, the final decision would also factor the respective prices, tyre availability and specific needs of every driver.
