In this review, we will be comparing two summer tyres: the Apollo Alnac 4G and the Kleber Dynaxer HP4. Both from well-established manufacturers, Apollo and Kleber, respectively.
The Apollo Alnac 4G is commonly known for its efficiency. However, it has been reported to display difficulty on both dry and wet surfaces, resulting in its downgrade. It falls short in terms of environmental impact and sustainability, also showing high wear and tear, which further detracts from its rating. Consequently, it received a rating of 46% from us and achieved 27th and 21st positions in the ADAC and Autobild tests out of 50 and 53 competitors, respectively.
On the other hand, the Kleber Dynaxer HP4 performed considerably better. With a rating of 76% from us, it places 12th in the ADAC test and 14th in the Autobild test, beating Apollo Alnac 4G in both. The tyre performs well in terms of environmental impact, tread life, and efficiency. However, its weakness lies in its performance on wet roads.
According to the Autozeitung 2018 test, Apollo Alnac 4G's key advantage is its efficiency, whereas its weaknesses include unbalanced performance on dry and wet surfaces, low mileage before needing replacement, and high wear. On the other hand, the Kleber Dynaxer HP4 had a good environmental impact record and was praised for its tread life, wear, and efficiency, but was also criticized for its unbalanced performance and difficulty in handling wet roads.
The 2022 Autobild test also pointed out that the Kleber Dynaxer HP4 performs well in water planing conditions, has shorter dry and wet braking distances, provides comfortable driving, and produces quieter rolling noise. Nevertheless, it has lower grip in wet conditions, delayed steering response, and tends to understeer on dry surfaces.
In conclusion, while both tyres have their strengths and weaknesses, the Kleber Dynaxer HP4 seems to outperform the Apollo Alnac 4G in most categories, making it the overall better choice for summer tyres. Please note that neither tyre was replaced by a newer model, and these assessments are based on their most recent models available.
