The Yokohama Advan Sport V105 and the Pirelli P ZERO are both premium summer tyres, but how do they measure up in everyday practicality and performance tests? Let’s compare.
The Yokohama Advan Sport V105, produced by Yokohama, performs well in assorted conditions showcasing a balanced performance. Looking at different test scenarios, this tyre did not always make it to the top but nevertheless proved its viability earning a 26th place in the Autobild test out of 50 tyres, a 8th place in ADAC's evaluation of 16 tyres, and a 11th placement in GTÜ’s 14-tyres test, finishing 7th in Autoexpress's tests among 11 tyres.
On the other hand, we have the Pirelli P ZERO, a staple summer tyre proudly manufactured in Italy by Pirelli. It repeatedly proved its quality by taking 3rd place in ADAC's test, 4th place in GTÜ's tests, and 5th place in Autoexpress's evaluation, outperforming the Yokohama model. Interestingly, the two were quite close in Autobild test with Pirelli securing 25th position, just one spot above the Yokohama tyre.
Although neither model has been replaced by a newer one, the Pirelli P ZERO had generally better positions in tests, indicating a stronger overall performance. Hence, Pirelli P ZERO might be a more preferable choice as far as mutual test positions are concerned.
Strengths of the Yokohama Advan Sport V105: Good performance balance making it suitable for a variety of conditions.
Weaknesses of the Yokohama Advan Sport V105: Lower positions in most mutual comparison tests, perhaps reflecting less optimal performance in certain conditions or aspects of tyre behaviour.
