Today we'll be comparing two high-quality summer Ultra-High-Performance (UHP) tyres: the Toyo Proxes Sport 2 and the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6. Both are popular options, but how they stack up against each other might surprise you.

The Toyo Proxes Sport 2 tyre doesn't have any previous models or replacements. It received a 72% overall rating from our testers. According to Autobild, the Proxes Sport 2 performed best in aquaplaning - cross and wet circle cornering categories. However, the tyre could only manage the 10th position in a pool of 50 tyres. The tyre was praised for its good off-road capabilities, short braking distances, and dynamic dry-pavement handling, but was noted to have mediocre wet grip and delayed steering response. There were also remarks on its relatively high rolling resistance.

On the other hand, the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 — manufactured in Germany and replacing previous models like the GoodYear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 and Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 — scored a perfect 100% rating from us. In the Autobild test, this Goodyear tyre clinched the 2nd position, beating the Toyo Proxes Sport 2 by a significant margin. Among its best features were dry braking, dry handling, aquaplaning - longitudal, exterior noise, wet circle cornering, wet handling, comfort, and price/value. The environment of the test recognized it as a winner, with excellent driving characteristics on any surface, dynamic handling, precise steering, and short wet and dry braking distances. The tyre also boasted a lower rolling resistance.

To summarise, the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 outperforms the Toyo Proxes Sport 2 in most areas according to the Autobild tests and our own evaluations. While the Toyo tyre is no slouch and offers decent performance, particularly in dry conditions, it lacks the all-round excellence that the Goodyear tyre displays. This, combined with the significantly better ranking and perfect rating, makes the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 the clear winner of this comparison.

However, potential buyers should note that individual performance could vary based on specific driving conditions and vehicle type. Therefore, it is recommended to consider personal driving habits and preferences when choosing between the two. It's also worth noting that while the Toyo tyre struggled in certain areas, it is still a solid choice, especially given its lower price point.
