We're comparing two summer tyres: the Sava Intensa UHP 2, successor to the Sava Intensa UHP, and the GoodYear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5, which itself was succeeded by the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6. Both models were produced by Sava and Goodyear respectively, with the GoodYear having been made in SI and DE.
Reviewing the data from Promobil, Autobild, and ADAC tests highlights the differences between these two tyres. The Sava Intensa UHP 2 achieved an average position of 8 in Promobil's test and 17 in Autobild's, showing decent but not outstanding performance. Its aquaplaning – cross and fuel efficiency were deemed to be its best features, while also offering good value for money and a reasonable mileage.
On the other hand, the GoodYear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 performed notably better in testing. Not only did it secure first place in the Autobild test, it consistently scored well in other tests such as Promobil and ADAC, ranking 6th and 3rd respectively. These results demonstrate impressive wet handling and aquaplaning – cross performance. The best features of the GoodYear are its competitive price-to-value ratio, excellent mileage, and outstanding aquaplaning abilities.
In our own assessment, the Sava Intensa UHP 2 takes 67% of our rating, while the GoodYear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 outperforms the former with an impressive 80%. While the Sava tyre is a competent option in its price range, the GoodYear model demonstrates a clear edge in terms of performance, resulting in its stronger overall rating.
To summarize, both tyres have their strengths but the GoodYear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 is a stronger performer overall. If budget is a primary concern, the Sava Intensa UHP 2 offers a reasonable performance at a more affordable price point. However, for those seeking the best performance and are willing to invest a bit more, the GoodYear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 is the better choice.
