The Pirelli P ZERO and Nokian Powerproof are two of the reliable summer tyres in the market, both offering unique strengths.

Manufactured by Pirelli, an Italian brand known for its high-quality products, the P ZERO is a dependable summer tyre that scored 61% in our rating. It exhibits fantastic performance in wet conditions, with an outstanding wet side guide, as established in the AutoMotorSport test where it secured the 4th position. Furthermore, it exceled in dry braking, wet braking, wet circle cornering, and wet handling, leading to a brilliant 1st place finish in the Autobild test. However, its performance in the ADAC test was more nuanced, rating very well for dry braking, dry driving behaviour, safety, exterior noise, wet circle cornering, and wet handling but landing it the 12th place out of 16.

On the other hand, Nokian Powerproof, crafted by the Finland-based Nokian, obtained a stronger overall rating of 71%, suggesting it could be more robust in some aspects. In the AutoMotorSport and Autobild tests, it came in 7th place, signaling impressive performance but slightly below the Pirelli P ZERO. Notably, Nokian Powerproof excels in noise reduction, providing a comfortable, quiet ride as assessed by its features in the ADAC test where it ranked 11th. Interestingly, it also performs remarkably in the Gute-Fahrt test, ranking 4th, particularly for its wet circle cornering.

However, with the abundance of tests putting the Pirelli P ZERO in stronger positions, it seems that the Pirelli model offers slightly more well-rounded performance. Yet, Nokian Powerproof's higher rating certainly indicates that it might afford more specific advantages, especially relating to noise reduction. Determining the better option would largely hinge on individual priorities and the specific driving conditions frequently encountered.

Importantly, neither model has been replaced by newer versions as of now, ensuring that both the Pirelli P ZERO and the Nokian Powerproof remain current and relevant choices for summer tyres.

In summary, while the Pirelli P ZERO excels in wet conditions, Nokian Powerproof impresses with its noise reduction capabilities. Thus, potential buyers are encouraged to review their specific needs thoroughly to choose the most suitable model.
