Two popular summer tyres, the Nokian Powerproof and the Maxxis Victra Sport 5, have been put to the test by a number of reviewers. These high-performance tyres have been evaluated on a wide variety of features including handling, noise, aquaplaning, mileage, and more.

The Nokian Powerproof is a well-rated tyre from a Finnish manufacturer. With an overall rating of 51%, it's been noted for its excellent dry steering response and wet braking skills. However, reviewers have identified some drawbacks such as aquaplaning safety and some noise issues during use.

This tyre has been previously ranked seventh out of eleven by AutoMotorSport, sixth out of ten by Autozeitung and an impressive second out of fifty by AutoBild. Despite some minor negatives, the Nokian Powerproof remains a strong and reliable option and has now been replaced by the newer Nokian Powerproof 1.

On the other hand, the Maxxis Victra Sport 5 is a product of a Chinese manufacturer. With a higher overall rating of 69%, this summer tyre is appreciated for its wet handling and side guiding, but meets criticism for its weak steering precision in dry conditions and insufficient aquaplaning protection.

When put against other tyres, Maxxis Victra Sport 5 achieved fifth position out of eleven in AutoMotorSport testing, a modest seventh out of ten in Autozeitung review, and twentieth place out of fifty in AutoBild's assessment. It managed a commendable fourth spot out of sixteen in ADAC's test, thanks to its performance in aquaplaning security, mileage, noise, and cornering on a wet circle.

In sum, both tyres have their own strengths and weaknesses - the Nokian Powerproof shines with wet conditions handling, while the Maxxis Victra Sport 5 shows superiority in aquaplaning and noise suppression. Each tyre has mainly recieved good positions in the tests, indicating that they are both reliable choices. The final verdict depends on the specific needs and preferences of the driver.
