Today we are comparing two high performance tyres: The Nexen N fera Sport and the Pirelli P ZERO PZ4. Manufactured by Nexen and Pirelli respectively, both tyres fall into the summer tyres category.

Starting with the Nexen N fera Sport, this model, made in CZ, is best known for its low exterior noise. Ranking 9th in a ten-tyre test conducted by ACE and 11th in the 11 tyre test by SportAuto, it showed strengths in its uniquely silent operation. However, sportauto 2023 test did highlight a tendency for the tyre to understeer and reported only average mileage. It is worth noting though, that it has been chosen as the first equipment for the BMW 2-series Active Tourer.

Moving onto the Pirelli P ZERO PZ4, it ranks highly in various tests, holding the 5th spot in both the ACE and SportAuto tests. Features that stood out included wet handling, as noted by ACE, and a strong dry steering response, as observed in the SportAuto test. However, the sportauto 2023 test pointed out weaknesses in wet braking and an increased rolling resistance. Nonetheless, its overall performance outweighs these minor setbacks. In the Autobild test of 50 tyres, it ranked third with particularly strong scores for dry and wet handling, wet circle cornering, and wet braking.

In summary, both the Nexen N fera Sport and the Pirelli P ZERO PZ4 illustrate strong performances. The Nexen tyre highlights itself for its low exterior noise, a feature that many drivers appreciate. On the other hand, the Pirelli tyre stands out particularly for its impeccable wet handling and dry steering response, offering strong competition to the Nexen model.

In terms of the overall rating, Pirelli P ZERO PZ4 comes out on top with 93%, as opposed to Nexen N fera Sport's 76%. This suggests a preference for the Pirelli tyre based on its exceptional performance and handling, although the Nexen tyre is well-appreciated for its unique noise reduction quality. However, it's important for every driver to consider their individual needs when choosing tyres. Both of their manufacturers do not yet have a model replacing these popular tyres.
