In this article, we are comparing two summer UHP tyres; the Nexen N fera Sport and the Giti Gitisport S2 based on extensive testing and reviews. Pay particular attention to the strengths and weaknesses of each tyre, their overall rating and their performance in mutual tests.

Starting with the Nexen N fera Sport, a high-performance summer tyre which does not have a newer model replacing it. It is produced in the Czech Republic (CZ) and is mainly used as the default tyre for the BMW 2-series Active Tourer. Our overall rating for this tyre is 59%. One of its notable features in the SportAuto test is its short dry braking distance and quiet rolling noise. However, it had a disadvantage of displaying understeering characteristics and an average mileage. In the same test, it was positioned 11 out of 11 tyres.

In contrast, the Giti Gitisport S2, a product of Giti, has an unbeatable performance in aquaplaning. It scores high for its quiet ride, but loses points for its low mileage and delayed steering response on both wet and dry tracks. Although there is no warm weather tyre replacing it at the moment, it finished just above the Nexen N fera Sport, at 10th place in the SportAuto test.

In another comparison, carried out by Autobild, out of a total of 50 tyres, Nexen N fera Sport stood at 14, while Giti Gitisport S2 was positioned at 19. Although the results vary from one test to another, it gives an indication of the performance of both tyres under different circumstances.

To conclude, both these tyres have their strengths and weaknesses. While the Nexen N fera Sport stands out for its quiet ride and short dry braking distance, its understeering behavior and average mileage might be slightly off-putting for some drivers. On the other hand, the Giti Gitisport S2 stole the show with its top performance against aquaplaning and quiet ride, but its low mileage and delayed steering response are areas for improvement.

Before making a final choice, consider your driving conditions, expectations and personal preferences. While both tyres offer a high level of performance, your final choice should also align with your overall driving style and terrain.
