When comparing the Nexen N Fera Primus and the Falken ZIEX ZE310 Ecorun summer tyres, there are several key factors to consider. The Nexen N Fera Primus, a UHP tyre, significantly shines in aquaplaning, showcasing excellent aquaplaning qualities, whilst the Falken ZIEX ZE310 Ecorun, a touring model made in Turkey, exhibits remarkable dry handling skills, strong comfort and noteworthy wet braking abilities.
According to testing by Autobild, the Nexen N Fera Primus placed 10th out of 51 tyres tested, with safe wet handling and short wet braking paths as some of its strengths. However, understeer handling in dry conditions and a limited lifespan were indicated as its weaknesses. The Falken ZIEX ZE310 Ecorun, on the other hand, outperformed the Nexen model, placing 5th. It highlighted sturdy wet handling, short braking paths, and dynamic dry handling abilities whilst maintaining a quiet driving noise. Some minor setbacks were noted with an increased rolling resistance.
Further evaluations, such as the ADAC test, mirrored these results where Nexen N Fera Primus and Falken ZIEX ZE310 Ecorun occupied 10th and 6th positions respectively amongst 50 tyres in the experiment. The Nexen model demonstrated good braking performances and dynamic wet handling but was noted to have delayed steering response and a restricted lifespan. The Falken tyre was balanced and performed well on wet and dry surfaces. Although, it does have slight weaknesses in environmental balance, efficiency, and sustainability.
In summary, while both Nexen and Falken offer reliable tyres, the Falken ZIEX ZE310 Ecorun edges out the Nexen N Fera Primus overall in performance, particularly in dry handling. It is worth noting that the Falken ZIEX ZE310 Ecorun has been replaced with the Falken ZIEX ZE320, promising further enhancements. Please keep an eye on this space for further updates.
