The Michelin Primacy 3 and Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance are two summer tyre models that have been put to the test through several performance tests, now we examine how they stack up against each other.
Looking at the Michelin Primacy 3, it should be noted that this model has been replaced by the Michelin Primacy 4. The Primacy 3 model has been a strong performer in mutual tests. In the ADAC test, it came in first place among 16 competitors, and similarly, it topped the list in Autozeitung's comparison of 10 tyres.
The Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance on the other hand, manufactured in Slovenia (SI), also has an updated version, the Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance 2. Despite our personal rating of the tyre standing at only 43%, the Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance put up a commendable performance in these mutual tests. In the AutoBild test, it secured the 5th position out of 50 assessed tyres, outperforming many of its counterparts. However, it didn't fare as well in the ADAC and Autozeitung tests, placing 12th and 3rd respectively.
In terms of strengths, the Michelin Primacy 3 has a clear advantage in terms of mutual test performance, consistently performing at a top-tier level. However, the Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance offers competitive performance in a larger pool of competitors, as demonstrated by the AutoBild results.
The pitfall for the Goodyear model appears to be the inconsistency in mutual test results, indicating that the performance might vary significantly depending on the test conditions or parameters. When it comes to the Michelin model, it's noteworthy that this is a previous model. This outdatedness might cause it to lack the technological advancements incorporated in newer models, such as the Primacy 4.
Overall, while the Michelin Primacy 3 seems to outperform the Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance in smaller scale tests, the latter offers commendable performance in larger scale tests, signifying its competitive edge among a larger selection of tyre models.
Your ideal choice between the two, hence will come down to your specific requirements- whether you prefer a tyre with a proven track record in smaller tests or a tyre that can hold its own in a larger pool of competitors.
