The comparison here is between the Maxxis Victra Sport 5 and the Dunlop SP Sport MAXX RT2; two well-regarded summer tyres from Maxxis and Dunlop manufacturers respectively. While both tyres exhibit outstanding features, comparison tests reveal some differences that could tip the balance depending on the buyer's preferences.

The Maxxis Victra Sport 5, a Chinese made UHP summer tyre, garnered a respectable 75% rating in our tests. Known for its strengths in wet circle cornering and wet handling, it took the impressive 4th place in the Sport Auto test, significantly surpassing the Dunlop tyre which fell into 5th place. However, its performance in the Autobild test was less than stellar, with a 20th position out of 50 tyres tested. Critics noted its average tread life and slightly delayed steering response as downsides.

On the other hand, Dunlop SP Sport MAXX RT2, a summer UUHP tyre, secured an impressive 79% in our rating system. Distinguished for its excellent aquaplaning qualities and low rolling resistance, the Dunlop tyre demonstrated powerful performance, especially on wet roads and in reducing fuel consumption. It fared well in Autozeitung and Gute-Fahrt tests, positioned 8th and 5th respectively, and notably bettered the Maxxis tyre in the Autobild test with the 17th position. Although deemed to have reliable driving properties, some criticism was directed at the slightly delayed steering response on dry pavement.

In conclusion, if you value wet handling and cornering, opt for the Maxxis Victra Sport 5, but expect average tread life and steering response. On the other hand, Dunlop SP Sport MAXX RT2 offers exceptional wet conditions performance and economical benefits through low rolling resistance, albeit with a minor compromise on dry steering response. So assess your needs, examine the road conditions you most often encounter, and make a choice that suits you best.
