In this text comparison, we're looking at two popular tyre models - the Kumho Ecsta HS52 and the Hankook Ventus Prime 4, both of which offer summer touring capabilities.
The Kumho Ecsta HS52, the successor of the Kumho Ecsta HS51, is a high-performance tyre that has met with positive feedback in a variety of tyre tests. Known for its impressive performances on both wet and dry tracks, this tyre has been praised for its short braking distances and competitive pricing. However, in some testing, it received critique for its rolling comfort. Some of its strengths mentioned in test reviews include mileage, dry handling, wet circle cornering, and dry braking. On the flip side, this tyre has shown weaknesses in aquaplaning behaviour and is noted for its high tyre weight. Overall, our rating for the Kumho Ecsta HS52 stands at 81%, placing it in the top-tier of summer tyres.
Moving on to the Hankook Ventus Prime 4, a step up from the Hankook Ventus Prime3 K125, this tyre stands out for its dynamic handling on wet and dry surfaces, short dry braking distances, and low rolling resistance. Despite this, the Ventus Prime 4's longevity was somewhat underwhelming in the tests. It has consistently shown good performance in dry braking, dry handling, and wet braking throughout the tests. In terms of their positions in mutual tyre tests, the Kumho Ecsta HS52 secured 3rd position in Vibilagare and Autobild tests out of 9 and 51 tyres respectively, and 8th in the ADAC test out of 50. The Hankook Ventus Prime 4 maintained the 2nd position among 51 tyres in the Autobild test and the 6th spot in the Vibilagare test with 9 tyres in total. Additionally, this tyre achieved 9th position in ADAC test amongst 50 tyres.
In conclusion, with the data from several tyre tests, both tyres prove strong contenders in the summer tyre category. The Kumho Ecsta HS52 shines with its superior performance on both dry and wet surfaces, whilst the Hankook Ventus Prime 4 proves robust with its dynamic handling and braking capabilities. Moreover, both the Kumho and Hankook companies have a history of producing reliable tyres, thus making both these models a viable choice for drivers.
