Starting with the Kleber Quadraxer 2, this tyre is marked at a 33% rating on our scale. Known for its excellent grip in snowy conditions, it also stands out due to its high resistance to aquaplaning and its low internal noise. However, this tyre has some drawbacks. It has been noted to have low grip in wet and dry conditions, slow-reacting handling, and extended braking distances. Furthermore, it suffers from high rolling resistance. Despite this, Kleber provides a newer model, the Kleber Quadraxer 3, that replaced the Quadraxer 2 offering improvements on these fronts.
On the other hand, the Vredestein Quatrac Pro bears a competitive rating of 61%. It excels in wet conditions, offering the best wet grip in the tests, short wet braking distances, and fast wet handling laps. It also scores for its low internal noise. However, like the Quadraxer 2, it doesn't perform well in snow and dry conditions, has a low aquaplaning resistance, and the highest rolling resistance in the test. Yet, there are no direct replacements for this tyre, so Vredestein customers have to stick with this model.
When it comes to tests conducted by Tyre Reviews and Autobild, the Vredestein Quatrac Pro consistently outperformed Kleber Quadraxer 2. In the Autobild test featuring 31 tyres, the Quatrac Pro succeeded in securing the third position, displaying more efficient noise exterior, comfort, wet braking, wet circle cornering, and wet handling, and snow traction compared to the Quadraxer 2 which lagged at position 19. However, Kleber Quadraxer 2 makes up with its impressive grip performance in snowy conditions.
In summary, the Vredestein Quatrac Pro is the more capable tyre for an all-round performance in wet conditions and comfort. However, the Kleber Quadraxer 2 might be a preferred option for those who often drive in snowy climates. Both tyres, however, could benefit from improvements in certain areas, such as snow grip for the Quatrac Pro and wet and dry grip for the Quadraxer 2.
