The two tyres we'll be comparing today are the GoodYear Vector 4Seasons SUV Gen-3 and Bridgestone Weather Control A005 EVO, both of which are all-round tyres designed for versatile performance throughout the year.

GoodYear Vector 4Seasons SUV Gen-3

Produced by GoodYear, the Vector 4Seasons SUV Gen-3 secured an 86% rating from our tests, consistently delivering high performance across varied conditions. Autobild testing awarded the tyre the 3rd position out of 10 due to its excellent features such as comfort, snow braking, snow traction, wet handling and longitudinal aquaplaning. Its well-proven all-season profile offers stable handling with precise steering, whilst also impressing with low riding noise and good comfort. The minor drawback observed was slightly extended dry brake distances.

Bridgestone Weather Control A005 EVO

On the other hand, we have the Weather Control A005 EVO from Bridgestone. Made in Hungary and Italy, it scored 71% in our tests. In the Autobild test it came fifth out of 10, delivering good dry handling, lower rolling resistance, and impressive snow braking and wet circle cornering. Bridgestone's reputation for precise handling and short dry braking distances was felt here too, with the only weakness being slightly understeering when driving on snow and wet surfaces.

In the Autobild 2021 tests, both tyres demonstrated strong performances. The GoodYear had stable handling in wet and dry conditions, high aquaplaning safety, short wet braking distances, and good comfort, albeit with slightly extended dry brake distances. In contrast, the Bridgestone delivered strong traction and short braking distances in the snow, precise steering, and dynamic wet handling, but with extended dry braking distances.

Verdict

In summary, the GoodYear Vector 4Seasons SUV Gen-3 hopefully stands out for its greater consistency and performance across all areas, making it a robust and reliable choice. The Bridgestone Weather Control A005 EVO, while excelling in dry traction and rolling resistance, falls just a little short when it comes to understeering on snowy and wet surfaces.

Keep in mind that the 'Cons' of each product are minor, and both are excellent tyres with proven track records in various test results. The choice depends on your preference for certain aspects like comfort, wet handling or snow performance.
