Our review today consists of two summer tyres, the Giti Synergy E1 and the Firestone Roadhawk. Both have differing strengths and weaknesses and varied results in comparative tests.
Let's start with the Giti Synergy E1 tyre. In the tests conducted by ADAC and Autobild, this tyre secured the 12th and 19th positions respectively among all tyres evaluated. The strengths of the Giti Synergy E1 were its noise, both exterior and interior, and its low rolling resistance. These features make for a quieter drive with good fuel efficiency. However, with an overall rating of 35%, the tyre's performance in other areas such as dry driving behavior, safety, and wet braking were relatively weak. This model by Giti, a veteran tyre manufacturer, has not been replaced with a newer model yet.
On the other side of the comparison, we have the Firestone Roadhawk. This tyre performed significantly better in the same tests, ranking 5th in the test conducted by ADAC and 3rd in the one performed by Autobild. The strengths of the Firestone Roadhawk are its dry driving behavior, safety, and wet braking. With an overall rating of 67%, it's clear that this tyre offers a higher level of safe and confident control in various conditions. However, it's worth noting that this model performed less favorably in terms of rolling resistance and noise creation. Like the Synergy E1, the Firestone Roadhawk is a stalwart product of its manufacturer Firestone and has not been replaced by a newer model yet.
In summary, our reviews show that the Firestone Roadhawk outperforms the Giti Synergy E1 in the tested categories, with better overall rankings in both tests. The Roadhawk provides excellent dry driving behaviour, safety and wet braking conditions, whereas the Giti Synergy E1 has the edge with its lower noise levels and better rolling resistance. It's clear, however, that both tyres have their strengths and weaknesses, depending on the criteria one values most.
Ultimately, choosing between these two tyres will depend on your individual driving needs and preferences. We recommend checking out the respective Giti Synergy E1 and Firestone Roadhawk pages for more detailed reviews and test results.
