The two contenders under our careful scrutiny today are the Giti Premium H1 and Michelin Primacy 4, both hailing from the summer tyre category.

Originating from China, the Giti Premium H1 is a mid-range tyre, featuring no significant predecessor models. In our rating system, it secured 34%. Although it did not have a particularly high score, it should be noted the tyre excelled in some areas during individual tests. For instance, during the Autozeitung test, it performed well in dry handling, dry steering response, and wet circle cornering. The AutoMotorSport test results also revealed it had excellent aquaplaning - cross and dry handling-objective.

However, in a mutual comparison with the Michelin Primacy 4 it lagged, as it placed 13th out of 17 tyres in the ADAC test and 9th out of 20 and 11 tyres in the Autozeitung and AutoMotorSport tests, respectively. Regarding the strengths and weaknesses of the tyre, significant advantages lie in its dry handling, dry steering response, and resistance to aquaplaning. The Giti Premium H1, however, seems to be lacking in the overall performance that many other competitors in the field can deliver. You can check more about it on Giti website.

On the other hand, the Michelin Primacy 4, a touring summer tyre, originating from either Spain, Germany, or Poland, outperformed the Giti Premium H1 in all the test categories. It secured the 5th, 3rd, and 3rd positions in the ADAC, Autozeitung, and AutoMotorSport tests. The ADAC 2021 test found the tyre to have top grades in dry braking and wear and tear but found it to have slight weaknesses on wet surfaces. Our system gave it a high score of 82%. After the Michelin Primacy 3, the Primacy 4 and even a newer version the Michelin Primacy 4+ have taken the torch and definitely carried it forward with increased performance and quality.

When it comes to strengths and weaknesses, Primacy 4 excels in dry braking, safety, and mileage, with slight limitations while negotiating wet surfaces. Amazingly, it holds the best features like wet circle cornering, dry braking, dry handling, and lower rolling resistance. Visit Michelin's website for more about this tyre.

In conclusion, when comparing the two tyres, Michelin Primacy 4 clearly has a decisive upper hand over the Giti Premium H1, given its high overall test rankings and better performance features. However, the Giti Premium H1 is still a decent option for those looking for specific attributes such as dry handling and aquaplaning resistance.
