In this comparison, we will be looking at two summer tyres: the Giti Gitisynergy H2 and the Michelin Primacy 4+. Both tyres offer potential advantages for different types of drivers.
Firstly, the Giti Gitisynergy H2 is part of the range of tyres produced by Giti. Highlights include a safe handling in wet conditions and short dry braking distances that many drivers will appreciate. However, there are some drawbacks. These include a tendency to understeer on dry tracks and a very high rolling resistance. This was highlighted in both the "Autobild" and "Autobild 2019” tests, where the tyre secured the 17th and 29th position respectively out of a total of 55 and 50 tyres tested.
On the other hand, the Michelin Primacy 4+ is a touring subtype produced by the prominent Michelin manufacturer and is the latest addition to the Michelin Primacy series, following the Primacy 4 and Primacy 3 models. This tyre showcased exceptional performance in the mutual tests, ranking 5th in the "Autobild" test and 3rd in the "ADAC" test. Key features include low external noise, excellent performance on both dry and wet roads, and a high mileage -- which was rated as the best by "Autobild 2024". It appears to have no significant weaknesses.
In conclusion, the Michelin Primacy 4+ stands out as the better tyre overall based on the test data. Its strong performance in a variety of criteria and particular strength in mileage and performance on both dry and wet roads tip the scales in its favor. However, the Giti Gitisynergy H2 can offer value for drivers prioritising safe handling in wet conditions and short braking distances on dry roads, provided the high rolling resistance is not a deterrent.
Each tyre is distinct and caters to different vehicle requirements; hence, the ultimate verdict will always boil down to the specific needs and preferences of the individual driver.
