Today, we will compare two popular summer tyres: The Fulda EcoControl HP2 and the Hankook Ventus Prime3 K125. These two models share certain attributes but also exhibit some significant differences. Allow us to break it down for you.
The Fulda EcoControl HP2 represents an improvement over its previous model, the Fulda EcoControl HP. In our analysis, this latest model has earned a rating of 71%. It excels particularly in aquaplaning resistance, as evidenced in Autobild & ADAC testing, where it ranked 20th out of 53, and 8th out of 15 respectively. Its noise levels were also noted for being especially low. Fulda has not yet released a newer model to replace the EcoControl HP2.
On the other hand, the Hankook Ventus Prime3 K125, made in Hungary and used by Citroen C3 Aircross, scored slightly higher at 75%. This tyre really stands out for brilliant dry handling and wet braking which were underscored in Autobild's test where Ventus Prime3 ranked 1st out of 53 tested tyres. It also performed well in ADAC's test, positioning 7th out of 15 tyres, with a particularly strong performance in the wet circle cornering. There is a newer model from Hankook though, the Hankook Ventus Prime 4 which replaces the K125 version.
In conclusion, although both tyres exhibit good performances, the Hankook Ventus Prime3 K125 clearly outperforms the Fulda EcoControl HP2 in terms of overall test results. However, the Fulda EcoControl HP2 may be a good choice for drivers prioritizing low noise levels and strong resistance to aquaplaning. Nevertheless, both manufacturers, Fulda and Hankook, have a proven track record in producing high quality summer tyres.
