The comparison between Cooper Zeon CS8 and Toyo Proxes Comfort summer tyres are based on numerous tests conducted by Autobild and ADAC. Both tyres have their strengths and weaknesses but the results reveal that the Toyo Proxes Comfort outperforms Cooper Zeon CS8 in most of the tests.
The Cooper Zeon CS8, produced in the UK, demonstrated subpar performance, gaining a rating of 42% on our site. It landed in position 26 and 33 in the Autobild and ADAC tests respectively. One of its noted strengths was a satisfactory performance on wet surfaces, although it had evident shortcomings on dry roads, coupled with a poor eco-balance and low mileage. Concerning abrasion, efficiency and sustainability, the Cooper Zeon CS8 also left a lot to be desired.
On the other hand, the Japanese manufactured Toyo Proxes Comfort, a touring sub-type, performed significantly better, earning a rating of 66% on our site. In mutual tests with the Cooper Zeon CS8, it consistently ranked higher, taking position 14 in the ADAC test and 17 in the Autobild test. The high standing can be attributed to its excellent dry handling and dry braking capabilities. The tyre also displayed good performance on both wet and dry surfaces, short dry braking distances and comfortable rolling noise. However, it also demonstrated downsides like low curve aquaplaning safety reserves and substandard mileage.
Looking at the manufacturers of these tyres, Cooper has a reputable track record, but in this comparison, its Zeon CS8 model did not perform as well as Toyo's Proxes Comfort. Toyo, on the other hand, appears to have executed a great combination of comfort and performance in their Proxes Comfort model.
In conclusion, the Toyo Proxes Comfort comes out on top due to its overall balanced performance on both wet and dry roads, and better test results. While both tyres have areas for improvement, particularly in terms of mileage, the Cooper Zeon CS8 needs to address more issues to compete effectively.
