In this tyre comparison, we have a look at two leading summer tyres, the Continental SportContact 7 by Continental and the Maxxis Victra Sport 5 from Maxxis. Both tyres are classified as summer tyres, with Continental's being an ultra ultra high performance (UUHP) tyre and Maxxis' being a ultra high performance (UHP) tyre.

The Continental SportContact 7 is the latest addition to the SportContact series, replacing the previous models like the Continental SportContact 6, Continental SportContact 5, and Continental SportContact 3. As for the Maxxis Victra Sport 5, there is no information on any previous models or the tyre that replaced this model.

Starting with the Continental SportContact 7, this tyre is rated at 100% on our site and it stands out for its dry braking, dry handling, and wet braking abilities among others. It secured the top position in both SportAuto and Gute-Fahrt tire tests. Most notably in SportAuto's tyre test out of a total of 11 tyres. Despite this, there are minor criticisms on the tyre's somewhat subdued wet cornering grip and elevated rolling noise.

Coming to the Maxxis Victra Sport 5, this tyre has a rating of 69% on our site. It performed well in Aquaplaning tests, had short braking distances on wet surfaces, and offered low noise levels, all at a competitive price. However, it struggled with understeer on both wet and dry surfaces, showed delayed steering response, and compromised roll comfort. The tyre placed at 9th place in the SportAuto tyre test, and at 5th place in the Autobild tyre test, out of 10 tyres.

In conclusion, although both tyres have their pros and cons, the Continental SportContact 7 comes out on top overall and outperforms the Maxxis Victra Sport 5 in tests. However, the Maxxis tyre still remains an affordable, and reliable option for drivers giving importance to aquaplaning safety and low noise levels.
