Our comparison today is between two all-round tyres: the Bridgestone Weather Control A005 and the Vredestein Quatrac Pro. Both models represent their respective manufacturers, being Bridgestone for Weather Control A005 and Vredestein for Quatrac Pro.

Based on our evaluation criteria, the Vredestein Quatrac Pro scored a bit higher with a 61% rating, while the Bridgestone Weather Control A005 landed at 45%. However, diving deeper into the details of their performance can offer potential buyers a better perspective on which one suits their needs better.

Among the standout features of the Bridgestone Weather Control A005, as shown in various tests, are its dry braking and dry driving behavior, as well as its ice braking and its wet capabilities. The tyre demonstrated itself well during wet braking, wet circle cornering, and wet handling tests. However, it ranked 7th out of 7 tyres in the ADAC test.

On the other hand, the Vredestein Quatrac Pro showcased its edge in terms of interior noise reduction. In terms of performance, it showed relatively well on wet surfaces and is notable for its low wear rate. But it also showed some weakness on dry surfaces and on snow, similar to the Bridgestone tyre. In the ADAC test comparison, the Vredestein Quatrac Pro ranked 6th.

Pivoting to the Autobild test, the Bridgestone Weather Control A005 was ranked highest among as much as 31 tyres for its dry and wet braking as well as rolling resistance. Comparatively, the Vredestein Quatrac Pro ranked third, but demonstrated superior performance levels in respect to snow traction, wet braking, circle cornering, and handling.

To summarise, for users who face more wet conditions and are concerned about wear rate, the Vredestein Quatrac Pro may be a solid choice. However, if dry conditions are more common and braking is a concern, the Bridgestone Weather Control A005 might be the better choice. Both tyres, however, seem to have some difficulty with performance on snow.

As it stands, there are no new models that have replaced either of these tyres.
