Today, we are comparing two highly regarded all-season tyres - the Bridgestone Turanza All Season 6 and the Vredestein Quatrac. Both are phenomenal performers in their class, with unique strengths and weaknesses.
The Bridgestone Turanza All Season 6 is one of the Bridgestone's masterpieces, made in Italy. It has attained an outstanding rating of 91% in our tests. According to the AUTOBILD and autobild 2024 comparisons, the tyre excelled in dry braking, dry handling, wet braking, and wet circle cornering, earning the first position in a total of 37 tyres compared. However, as per the autobild 2023 summary, it had some shortcomings on snow-covered trails.
On the other hand, the Vredestein Quatrac, a product of Vredestein and made in Hungary, scored 88% in our evaluations. Although it slipped to the fifth position in the AUTOBILD test, it showcased some exceptional attributes. The tyre was admired for its quiet exterior noise, secure wet handling, dynamic wet driving behaviour and superior aquaplaning reserves. Nevertheless, according to autobild 2024, it had a slightly elevated rolling resistance.
In a head-to-head comparison, the Bridgestone Turanza All Season 6 was the winner, owing to its secure handling and short braking distances on both wet and dry roads. However, the Vredestein Quatrac was not far behind, demonstrating well-balanced performance at a high level, good aquaplaning reserves, short braking distances, and sporty secure handling behaviour.
All in all, both tyres exhibit impressive performance regardless of weather conditions, not forgetting their aquaplaning capabilities. The Bridgestone Turanza All Season 6 edges out the Vredestein Quatrac iff, but it's important to consider which strengths align most with your driving habits. Finally, neither of these tyres has been replaced with a newer model, thus, they continue to represent the excellence of their respective manufacturers.
