When it comes to the type tyres in review, we have the Apollo Alnac 4G and the Continental PremiumContact 6 under the microscope. Both are summer tyres, but let's dive deeper into the details of each.
The Apollo Alnac 4G, manufactured by Apollo, scored an average of 46% in our rating system. Compared to other tyre models in the ADAC test, it lost position landing 6th out of 15. In a much larger sample group, with Autobild testing 53 tyres, the Alnac 4G dropped further to position 21. The autobild 2024 recap highlights the tyre's efficiency but points out its weak performance on both dry and wet roads, concerns about the tyre's environmental footprint and durability, and noticeable wear.
In contrast, the Continental PremiumContact 6, a touring tyre manufactured by Continental, boasts an impressive 83% rating on our system. It ascended to 1st place out of 15 in the ADAC test, with wet braking and wet handling marked as its forté. Out of 53 tyres tested by Autobild, it maintained a high score landing the 4th position, with its wet braking feature being highlighted once again. The autobild 2024 review praises the tyre's stability and high safety margin. It performed well on both dry and wet surfaces and proved to have higher mileage. The only downside, according to the review, was its efficiency.
The Continental PremiumContact 6 succeeds the previous model, the Continental ContiPremiumContact 5, and has been replaced by its successor, the Continental PremiumContact 7.
Verdict: Based on test results, the Continental PremiumContact 6 easily surpasses the Apollo Alnac 4G in overall performance making it the better choice between the two. Its excellent wet road performance and higher durability make it standout, despite minor concerns about its efficiency.
