Here we discuss two high-performance summer tyres: the Dunlop SP Sport MAXX RT2 and the Maxxis Victra Sport 5. Both have impressive specs, but let's dig deeper into test results and reviews.

The Dunlop SP Sport MAXX RT2 performed quite well in a set of tyre tests. It scored an overall rating of 79% in our evaluations. Notably, it secured the 5th spot consistently in 'Sport Auto', 'Gute Fahrt' and a respectable 8th in 'Autozeitung'. Complimented for its 'Aquaplaning - longitudal' and 'Rolling resistance', the Dunlop tyre proved to be very reliable in wet conditions. However, delayed response on dry surfaces was a minor drawback observed by 'sportauto 2024'. Dunlop has not yet introduced a replacement for this model.

On the other hand, manufactured in China, the Maxxis Victra Sport 5 garnered a satisfactory 75% in our ratings. In comparison tests, its best position was 4th in both 'Sport Auto' and 'Gute Fahrt', outperforming the Dunlop in these cases. 'sportauto 2024' praised the Maxxis tyre for its safety features during Aquaplaning and dynamic handling in wet conditions. Despite this, its average lifespan and delayed steering were seen as areas for improvement. Check the whole Maxxis range for more information.

In 'Autobild', both tyres scored lower positions, with Dunlop at 17th and Maxxis at 20th place out of 50 tyres. Nevertheless, considering test positions and features, both the Dunlop SP Sport MAXX RT2 and the Maxxis Victra Sport 5 showcase impressive performance, safety, and handling capabilities in various conditions. However, Dunlop came out as a slightly better performer overall in our test series.

+

In conclusion, both the Dunlop SP Sport MAXX RT2 and the Maxxis Victra Sport 5 are worth considering, each with its strengths and weaknesses. Whereas the Dunlop tyre stands out with its superior wet surface performance, the Maxxis tyre shines with its safety reserves during Aquaplaning and secure wet handling. That being said, Dunlop seems to have a slight edge in most scenarios per our test results.
