We are comparing two high-performance summer tyres, one being the Bridgestone Potenza Sport and the other is the Falken Azenis FK510.

Firstly, the Bridgestone Potenza Sport features strong performance across a number of areas. This tyre excelled in tests, particularly in wet and dry conditions. It has been notably appreciated for its cornering abilities and braking performance, both in wet and dry conditions, as well as its relative silence on the road. Despite some criticisms regarding its rolling resistance and noise level, the Potenza Sport still achieved an impressive 92% rating on our scale. Bridgestone, a leading tyre manufacturer, has not replaced this model with a newer version yet.

On the other hand, the Falken Azenis FK510 was noted for its good aquaplaning performance and comfort, alongside commendable wet handling and braking. Though criticisms were levelled at its handling behaviour on wet surfaces and the satisfactory side guidance of the rear axle on dry surfaces, it stood well in competition earning it a 79% rating from us. This tyre has been replaced with the Falken Azenis FK520, a new model by Falken, a renowned tyre manufacturer.

In a test conducted by Autobild, the Bridgestone Potenza Sport managed to secure the 2nd position out of 8 tyres, showing excellent all-around performance. Meanwhile, Falken Azenis FK510 secured the 5th position, demonstrating competence particularly in aquaplaning and comfort. The story was similar in Sportauto tests - Bridgestone Potenza Sport captured the 3rd position amongst seven tyres; the FK510 landed on 5th place reflecting a reliable performance.

In conclusion, both the Bridgestone Potenza Sport and the Falken Azenis FK510 display strong qualities as summer tyres. Given the high rating and consistent test performances, the Bridgestone Potenza Sport offers a more balanced performance in several areas including wet and dry handling, making it a top performer in its category. However, if aquaplaning resistance and comfort are your absolute priorities, the Falken Azenis FK510, albeit with a lower rating overall, might be an equally solid choice.
